The Divergence

Description: There’s more to a major Interstate than meets the eye. I-35 is a major highway that runs 1500 miles spliting the US in two. The Interstate itself tracks a powerful ley line which can be traced back to the last Ice Age and in fact, is said to have pulled glaciers down from the north. Long ago the ley line was split asunder by a magically cataclysmic event. It is often theorized that this event spawned the Nexus or at the very least feeds it with unstable arcane power making the boundaries around Dallas (and DFW proper) a bit more “spongy”. The Interstate construciton came later as various enterprising wizards sought to exploit, tame or control this magical phenomenon.

UNT Campus

Denton lies at the north end of the Divergence and is just outside of the Summer territory that is Dallas. Here, a large chunk of neutral ground exists – pure neutral. In some ways it’s the wild west of the magical and fey world. Wild faye run amok here and especially delight in lounging around the UNT campus. Some even say the college’s trend toward excellence in music education was partly designed to help tame these fey – as they say, music calms the savages.
